New FTA publication: The NCI Charrette System Guide for Transit Oriented DevelopmentNow available for download, this Guide is the first nuts-and-bolts reference for planning Transit Oriented Development (TOD) projects using a charrette. The Guide is based on the NCI Charrette System™. It can be used by MPOs, state, city and county planning agencies, transit agencies, consultants and community advocacy groups. The Guide describes the process, tools and techniques required to completely plan a TOD project from its inception through implementation. The Guide also includes four case studies of successful TOD projects that used charrettes, representing a range of TOD typologies.
This 59-page publication was authored by the National Charrette Institute, Reconnecting America and Kara Wilbur. It was made possible by a cooperative agreement with the US Federal Transit Administration.
