NCI Public Trainings and Certificate Program
NCI training certificates are available to the public (2012-2013 dates below) and in-house at your organization. Click here for information on Project Consulting and In-house Training.Starting with our Portland courses in 2012, the NCI toolkit will include a wider range of charrette and non-charrette approaches to fit a range of budgets and project factors. Trainings will include social media and web-based distance participation with hands-on training in public meeting tech tools, such as touch tables and keypad polling.

You will gain a practical understanding of how to apply the NCI Charrette System™ to a wide range of sustainable community planning projects. The NCI Charrette System™ training is ideal for planners, designers and developers specializing in sustainable development, transportation, public works, and transit, as well as citizen advocacy. Participants learn the practical NCI Charrette System™ skills, high-tech tools and techniques through interactive, hands-on exercises practiced on four case study types.

NCI Charrette Management and Facilitation™ Certificate Training
Click for a Complete Course Description and AgendaThis 1.5-day, advanced training will equip charrette managers with the essential tools and techniques required to manage a fast-paced, and constantly changing, multiple day charrette. Participants learn the essentials of detailed day-to-day charrette management along with the indispensable skills of public meeting planning and facilitation. Included in the course manual are detailed management forms and checklists, indispensible tools for the charrette manager. Note: Attendance at the NCI Charrette System™ Certificate Training (public or in-house) is a prerequisite for this training.
